Popcorn Sales
POPCORN SALES ARE BACK!
A note from Da Kernel:
After a dino-mite $74,000 season, Pack 107 is stomping into 2025 ready to roar even louder. We have a fossil-sized title to defend:
“Highest Selling Unit in Three Fires Council History” for the second straight year!
Not only that, but we were the 36th highest-selling unit in the entire country. That’s no small footprint! Every scout’s grit and determination made this possible—I saw you out there every weekend, guarding your storefronts like raptors, pulling popcorn wagons across town like triceratops, and hunting down online sales like true sales-a-saurus. You proved that Pack 107 is a force to be reckoned with!
Your efforts really pay off! Last year:
🦕 33% of sales came back to our Pack!
This allowed the Pack to pay for:
Half of Your Day Camp and Resident Camp Fees
Half of Your Scout Outing Fees
Breakfast and Treats at Pack Campouts
Welcome Back to Scouting Party
Bike Rodeo
Popcorn Party
All Advancement Belt Loops and Patches
The Blue and Gold Banquet
Pinewood Derby Cars
Reduced Scout Dues
Equipment Upgrades
And still left us with a “dino egg” nest fund to start the year strong!
🦖 37% went to Three Fires Council!
This fueled free and low cost adventures like:
Spring and Fall Camporees
Shooting Sports Night
STEM Spectacular
Cubscicle
NOVA iFly and Zoo Visits
Cubmobile Race
District Pinewood Derby
Day Camp
And more!
Get ready for prehistoric-sized fun, because there will be dinosaur-related bonuses and goals all throughout the popcorn campaign. We’ll keep you updated on the incentives as we go.
This year, we have a massive goal: $100,000!
That’s bigger than a brontosaurus, but with Pack 107’s teamwork, I know we can stomp toward it. And even if we don’t, we’ll still be following one of the most important Cub Scout rules:
“Do Your Best!”
🍿 NEXT STEPS:
🦴 Fill out your Trails End app profile to start online sales.
Register on the Trail’s End website.
The Trail’s End app (downloadable from the Android and iOS app stores) keeps track of all scout sales (Door to Door/Wagon Sales, Storefronts, and Online Direct). You must use the app to book Storefronts and obtain your very own link to send to friends and family who would like to buy popcorn and support your scout! Invites to register have been sent to scouts who haven’t registered yet. You can also sign up here.
When you register, you will be asked three questions about our Pack:
- Council: Three Fires
- District: Potawatomi (Potawatomi- MH)
- Unit: Pack 107
You may also need our unit code which is: AYDPQ
🦕 Sign up for storefront sales (slots are live now!).
🦖 Request product for wagon sales—be a popcorn-saurus on the move.
🦴 If you’re new to popcorn sales, keep reading to learn more about the different types of popcorn sales. (And even if you’re a prehistoric popcorn veteran, there are some updates you’ll want to read too!)
These are locations that the Pack has made arrangements with to be able to set up a table and sell to foot traffic.
You sign up for a storefront in the Trails End app, where it says "Sign up for shifts" under the Storefronts section. Pick a date, time, and location, and you are all set.
Please try to arrive 10 minutes early for your shift so the handoff from the previous shift goes smoothly.
Please have your Scout wear their Class A uniform.
This year, we will have coupons to hand out at non-restaurant storefronts (ie, Jewel, Reams). These coupons will be awarded to anyone who buys popcorn, and the customer can choose from the types we have available. As of right now, we have: Free Appetizer from Texas Roadhouse or 10% off a Meal at any Karas Restaurant, which are (Village Squire, Squire Ale House, Rookies, Alexanders Cafe). We can also hand these coupons out if you are working a shift at one of the participating locations, but only to people buying on the way out. For example, if you are working a shift at the Texas Roadhouse, you can give a free Texas Roadhouse appetizer coupon to someone who is buying popcorn while leaving. If they buy on the way in, just tell them to stop by on the way out to collect one. It is to try to prevent people from using the coupon immediately.
I will be in touch with the First and Last shifts at the location to arrange pickup and drop-off of the Storefront resources (table, canopy, product, etc) if I am not able to do it.
Your shift will start with $200 in cash (4x20s, 6x10s, 12x5s). Please reset this for the next shift.
At the end of your shift, record the amount of cash received and place it in the labeled envelope.
Do NOT use the new Cash to Credit feature for the storefronts. Enter cash sales as normal. I will convert the cash to credit on the backend after I reconsolidate the inventory at the end of the day so your Scouts get the extra .25 points for credit sales.
Join our Facebook chat about Storefronts. This will allow me to reach out to see if we can get coverage on a hot Storefront. Storefront Chat
Drag a wagon around your neighborhood for some door to door sales
Contact the Kernel to check out product to sell from your wagon.
Contact the Kernel to check out product to sell from your wagon.
Please have your Scout wear their Class A uniform.
Take some starting cash so you can make change for customers who want to pay with cash.
You can process credit card sales manually via the app or use the QR code so the customer can scan and pay with their phone.
Utilize the Cash to Credit feature so your Scouts get more Amazon points.
If anyone donates cash use it to buy the Heroes and Helpers donations.
Using both of those options negates the need to handle and return cash to the Pack.
If you have more than 1 scout and want to split sales between them. Let me know and I can help you with some options.
Set up your online storefront in the Trails End app, and:
add information about your Scout and even some pictures.
use the built-in sharing feature to share your Scout's storefront via email or social media apps.
🍿 ROAR-SOME REWARDS AWAIT:
The more popcorn you sell, the bigger your rewards. Either way, you’ll be stomping away with something amazing!
Popcorn Party - To reward the Scouts for getting out in front of potential customers and being confident in their salesmanship, if they work at least 2 Storefront shifts or make over $300 in wagon sales, they will get an invitation to the end-of-season Popcorn party. Usually, we rent out a movie theater to watch a fun film and eat some popcorn and candy.
Gift Cards - Earn points for sales on Trail's End. Redeem points for Gift Cards.
Rebate on Dues - $700 in sales will earn a $50 rebate, $1000 in sales will earn a $100 rebate.
Pie in the Face - Weekly top sellers get to gently place a pie in the face of a Scout Leader of their choice.
Free Ice Cream - Weekly top sellers also get a free ice cream voucher from Alice's
Unit Top Seller experience - Our Pack's top 3 sellers will get to participate in an awesome experience. This has not been determined yet, but ideas include a helicopter ride, a hot air balloon ride, horseback riding, iFly indoor skydiving, etc. However, if we cannot find something suitable, we will default back to some exceptional prizes.
Council Top Sellers - Scouts who sell enough will get tickets to the Wolves Hockey Scout Night. Various levels of sales get different rewards.
Even small sales make a big impact! Every scout who participates will walk away with something - because in our Pack, every dino counts.
Patch Wedges - Each Scout will receive a patch wedge for their brag vest for the first Storefront Sale, Wagon Sale, and Online Sale they make.
Prize Bonanza - All of you Scouts did such an exceptional job last year, so I want everyone to have an opportunity to get some prizes. A lot of the attention goes to the Scouts who sit at the top of the leaderboard every week, but that doesn't mean everyone else isn't working hard. I know Scouts is just one of many activities competing for the time and attention of these kids, so at the end of the Popcorn Season, most likely at the Popcorn party, we will have a table set up with prizes that you can "purchase" using tickets you have acquired over the course of the selling season. How does a Scout earn tickets?
1 Ticket for each Storefront they sell at.
1 Ticket for every $100 they sell doing Wagon Sales.
1 Ticket for every $100 they sell Online.
